The project of reconstruction, restructuring and re-functionalization of the Opificio Brioni is located in a privileged place which is the arrival in Penne of the SS 81, called Via di fonticoli, in a panoramic position overlooking the typical Abruzzo hill landscape. Created in several phases in the first 30 years of the post-war period, Opificio Brioni insists on an irregular-sized plot of approximately three hectares, free on all sides. The restructuring project has the objective to achieve greater efficiency in production functionally, and an improvement in the quality of life in the spaces where workers work, focusing on issues such as the quality of services, the organization of flows and of the spaces, and of the light inside these. The project involves the reconstruction of a portion of the part of the plant, that was demolished to prevent it from collapsing, that partially reduces the central void that has developed around the other pavillons. The project work is positioned within the production complex surrounded by uncovered areas of relevance destined to green and parking. The structure represent a secondary building, alled “Tunnel corridor” and is inserted in the current internal courtyard, adjacent to the existing pavilions and the “New pavilion”. The “ corridor tunnel” develops on two levels with an almost rectangular shape and overall dimensions of 25.40×2,00m.
